VoIP Termination and Origination (VoIP Gateway)

With the use of the NovaTec Mobile Gateway NMG either in the NMG S6 or NMG S20 assembly, traffic from abroad can be terminated with help of the integrated VoIP router direct into the GSM Network, thereby bypassing the Interconnects which are normally payable to the fixed network providers.

The NovaTec Mobile Gateway NMG in the E1/PRI models NMG S6 and NMG S20 can accommodate up to 4 x E1s PRI and from 4 – 60 GSM Channels, each with either 1, 2, 4 or with the use of the SOS SIM Server an unlimited number of SIM cards per GSM Channel, each configurable to the customer specifications.

The NovaTec Internet Pathfinder NIP – VoIP Gateway is the VoIP integrated equipment, which allows either 4, 8, 16 or 32 VoIP Channels (SIP Protocol).

All of these systems can be in conjunction with the Network Management System NMS monitored and remotely configured over IP, ISDN or GSM, from any location, and even CDR information can be automatically downloaded where and when required.

Where the need for traffic to be disseminated over different base stations for whatever reasons, NovaTec offer the Antenna Rotator System (ARS). This is a hardware/software solution, and with help of the Server this allows the Directional antenna to be rotated between base stations either randomly or per timed configuration.

 

With the use of the Mobile Least Cost Router the NMG can also be used for Originating traffic for either VoiP termination, this is achieved in the configuration of the software, whereby the NMG’s SIM card numbers can be used to reroute the call either into the fixed network, other providers networks or direct into a VoIP router for international termination over VoIP.

Application of GSM Gateways for the connection of Headquarters and Sub-divisions

The problem

Large companies with Sub-divisions are paying a very high cost for what should be Internal communications between each other, but not only these costs but also to their employees in the field on their mobile telephones.

  • These “internal” connections can cause very high costs, and can be a significant part of a company’s telecommunication costs

  • With landline to mobile calls incurring some of the highest telecommunications costs for a company with employees calling Mobile Phones to guarantee a call success rate when trying to reach personnel is higher than on fixed net telephones.

  • Sub-divisions may also be internationally located, so high international call rates apply to what should be an “internal conversation”.

Our solution

By the use of our NovaTec-Mobile Gateway NMG and the NovaTec-Internet Pathfinder NIP a direct VoIP connection is made to each of the Sub-divisions from the Headquarters and a direct connection to the GSM Network can be realised, making all landline to mobile calls direct mobile – mobile “on net” calls.

  • Connections to the mobile phones of the staff are routed automatically by the NMG into the concerned GSM-network
  • Also the calls from the mobile phones of the staff to a fixed network phone of the company are charged as a network internal connection as the gateway can also accept incoming GSM Calls.
  • Information for several employees or defined groups can be sent as a normal eMail, the NMG converts them into a text message (SMS) and transmits them to the staff´s mobile phone.
  • Calls between Headquarters and Sub divisions will always be free.
  • Calls to Mobile phones will always be a ON Net call (e.g. Vodafone-Vodafone)
  • This can be an add on to any installed switch
  • No need to change any hardware already in place
  • Configurable and maintainable over IP and ISDN
  • Complete real time call controls for each connection made
  • Cost savings of up to 80% on Mobile calls and up to 100% on internal corporation calls between sub divisions and Headquarters, or from Sub Division to other Sub Divisions.
  • Applications such as SMS – Email – SMS conversion, an email wrote with a regular Email programme will be sent to a user on his mobile phone, he can then answer the message and the recipient will receive this SMS message as an email.

Advantages:

  • Calls between Headquarters/Sub divisions and European Division France will always be free, or any other international destinations with a VoIP connection
  • Calls to a French Mobile phone from an Australian Mobile will not result in an International GSM Call but always 2 local ON Net calls (e.g. Australian Vodafone-Vodafone call and French Orange to Orange call ) which can mean a saving of up to 85% on international GSM Calls.
  • This can be an add-on to any installed switch; bring VoIP to an existing switch that has no VoIP capabilities without the need to change any end equipment such as Phones or Faxes.
  • Configurable and maintainable over IP and ISDN

  • Complete real time call controls for each connection made

Cutting telecommunications costs using the NovaTec GSM Gateway

The problem

Transport agencies and companies that require communication between the headquarters and its’ drivers often have problems. In most cases the drivers are equipped with mobile phones and the headquarters call them via a land line connection. This is a very cost intensive communications channel, and various methods can be used to increase cost effectiveness and therefore save money.

Solution

Through use of the NovaTec Mobile Gateways NMG that allow direct Mobile to Mobile calls, therefore cutting out the cost intensive land line route and using the more favourable Mobile network internal, and flat rates. Telephone costs can be reduced dramatically!

Realisation

The NovaTec-Mobile Gateway NMG is installed between the existing telephone system (PABX) and the normal provider land line connection. All calls that are targeted at Mobile telephone numbers are routed via the NovaTec  Mobile Gateway, therefore allowing direct Mobile to Mobile communication. The expensive connection between landline and the mobile network is avoided.
