The NovaTec fibre optic multiplexer is a pair of systems which can be used for transparent transfer of various interfaces via fibre optic.
Due to the easy interchangeability of the SFP fibre optic modules the system pair can be adjusted to any existing optic fibre line.
The modular setup with daughter boards allows the use of the system pair for the transfer of various interfaces independent of the used protocol.
The possible interfaces and their combinations can be found in the table below:

* These interfaces can only be used as subscriber interfaces and therefore can only be used with solution 2.

Solution 1 (Transparent transfer over NLP*)
*: NovaTec Link Protocol (NLP) allows transparent multiplexing of signalling channels of interfaces.
Solution 2 (Connection of Q-SIG or EDSS-1 via SIP)
All systems are manageable in both solutions with help of the NovaTec admin tool NAMES. In both solutions the connection of the line can be made via fibre optic or directly via the LAN interface. Integration into an existing IP network is also possible.
