VoIP for non VoIP capable switches (VoIP Gateway)

Task description

VoIP is already being exploited by private customers and now more and more business customers are looking at the prospects it may bring.

However not all telephony equipments are able to use the advantages of VoIP or can be migrated into VoIP.

The Solution

For these users the NovaTec NovaTec-Internet Pathfinder (NIP) as VoIP Gateway has been developed to, amongst other features, reduce telephone charges. This equipment is installed between the PABX and the PSTN and allows a non VoIP PABX to exploit all the features associated with VoIP.

The Realisation

The call routing selection either IP, Fixed network or mobile carrier can be configured in advance and updated via IP or ISDN.

The equipment allows for instance all company internal communications between different locations (whether national or international) via VoIP, and VoIP connections from VoIP subscribers to non-VoIP subscribers, so allowing city carriers to offer VoIP to those customers who do not have a VoIP capable PABX.

For customers who require direct connections to the Mobile networks the NovaTec Systems can be equipped with a GSM Module and with use of the integrated NovaTec Least cost routing function the cheapest connection is always made and so saves on telephone charges.
